Bear with me!

Bear with me as I make some changes to my blog!! :)

Happy Birthday to Mike!!

Posted by Tammy

Yesterday, 12/15, was Mike's 40th Birthday!! Whoo-hoo!! We celebrated by having dinner out at Carrabba's - our restaurant of choice for celebrations! Yummy!

I went a bit crazy and found 40 presents for him - he started opening them the night before his birthday and finished last night. There was a LOT of little stuff and a few bigger things mixed in. Let me tell you - it was tough to find 40 things for someone who "doesn't really like presents"! (I think he liked his presents though!) And Christmas is just around the corner... I've been a shopping fool!

Happy Birthday Mike!

And I just decided on a present to myself today.

I am joining in
Circe's Circle led by Jamie of Starshyne Productions! I have been considering this for some time - and I just decided to take the leap and join in! I'm very excited about this 12 week group! Jamie is fantasticly creative, and I know that this group will inspire and will hopefully help me kick-start my creativity and confidence!

Misty has gone pink

Posted by Tammy

One of my blog friends - Misty at Rainy Day in May - has gone pink for October! For the whole month of October, she is doing everything up in pink to honor and support breast cancer awareness.

She is having giveaways and all sorts of fun stuff going on! Please go check it out! (Her giveaways rock - the Beau-Coup gift certificate I won is from her!) The cause to fight against breast cancer and to honor and remember all of those women who have battled the disease is a great one! Go take a look at Misty's blog and join in! :)

It is hosted by Jamie and the blog is here. We will be reading Soul Coaching by Denise Linn. I'm very excited to join in on this. I've read a couple books by Linn and enjoyed them!

Disappointment

Posted by Tammy

On Friday, Mike got the news that he had not qualified for the job in Oregon. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. He took the news better than I did - perhaps because he has worked in the gov't system for a long time and understands better what it takes to qualify.

I had definitely set my hopes high for this one. It was the "perfect" job - because of location mainly.

So... now we move on to Plan B. We don't really have a plan B as of yet, but we're trying to figure out what we should do. Both of us long to move to the coast, so that's still where we're focusing.

Things have gotten worse for Mike at work... everything is still settling after a big reorganization, so we'll see what shakes out for him. Last week was VERY rough. If it continues along those lines, he will need to get out of there for his health's sake (and mine! I had a horrible migraine on Saturday.) Sometimes, I truly think we should just pack it up and head for Oregon, job or no. I am extremely lucky in that my employers will let me keep my full-time job with them even when we move! So, we have one job to move on! Now we just need to figure out a job for Mike! Anyone know of any openings on the southern coast of Oregon?

Keep thinking ocean thoughts for us! We'll get there - just later than I was hoping!

In other news - I'm still having trouble wanting to post and write here. I think that things are sufficiently stressful right now that I am withdrawing a bit and being my introverted self more than usual. I still visit all of you and I hope you'll still stop in here even though my posts are few and far between!

Blogging Break?

Posted by Tammy

I appear to be taking a break from blogging... not sure why, but I just don't feel like blogging lately.

So, I'm going to post and make it official! I'm going to take a bit of a break - and put no pressure on myself because I am not blogging! I'll be back, I'm sure, because I'll have stuff to share!!

Right now - nothing new to share! We're still in CO - no new jobs for Mike on the horizon just yet (damn!)... He's searching - trying to find a spot where he'll be happier (and closer to the ocean!) I'm ready to move when he finds the right one!

I'm still reading your blogs! So I'll be around - and I will return to my regularly scheduled blogging soon! Hugs!!

My Work Blog

Posted by Tammy

*Start Shameless Promotion* I haven't been writing here much of late. But, I am still blogging! I'm getting paid to blog, in fact!

I have had my work blog for about a year, but just recently, we decided to broaden out my topic and I've really been having fun with it.

I work for a company called
World by the Tail, Inc. My job is business manager/webcrafter. Our main product is called ClayPaws®, the original paw print kit. We sell these all over the country to veterinary clinics who then make paw print impressions for their clients. Many (most) times they are in conjunction with the death of a beloved pet as a memory!

My blog is called the
ClayPaws® Connection. I am writing about our products, of course, but I'm also writing about many other pet related topics! Jump on over and take a peek if you're interested! I'd love to "see" some familiar faces over there too! *End Shameless Promotion*

Tomorrow is the start

Posted by Tammy

of NaBloPoMo... I decided to sign up for this challenge! What am I going to blog about each day? I have NO idea!

I don't claim to be a writer. And I'm really not sure my life is all that interesting. I am sure I will wind up doing some memes for my daily posts, but I want to write "real" posts also.

For those of you reading - is there stuff about me that you want to know? I'm pretty open about myself. But, I don't always think to write about me! Tell me if you want to know something. Help me with ideas for blog posts! :)

I'll be here - every day in November!! Make a request!

Happy Hallowe'en! I'll be handing out candy to the kids in our neighborhood tonight!

To NaBloPoMo, Or Not?

Posted by Tammy

OK - so I keep hearing about this. I heard about it last year, and didn't do it... and now, I'm hearing about it again and considering it...

NaBloPoMo - or National Blog Posting Month - the month of November - you commit to posting every single day on your blog for the entire month. 30 days of blog posts.

I haven't been posting even as much as I used to lately. I haven't been creating as much either. I wonder if this might be a good thing for me to try. Posting every day would push me to write something at least. Or maybe it would push me to create, or take a photo, or ... Or would it make me crazy trying?!

I just don't know. What do you all think? I'd love to hear some feedback if you've tried this... or if you already post every day. What's it like?! Is it overwhelming? Or is it worth it because you get on a roll and write or create for your posts? I have a couple days to decide still... we shall see....

Imagine

Posted by Tammy

This is my inspiration for my new blog! I took this photo at Strawberry Fields in Central Park last October. I love the flowers surrounding the memorial. Imagine! what I could do if I put my mind to creative things. Imagine! what I could do if I stopped worrying so much. Imagine! what I could do if I lived healthier! The list goes on.... Imagine!
